Inaugural Grown-Up Book Fair

Join us for a fantastic and fun evening during our very first Lycoming Arts Grown-Up Book Fair! You’ll discover a wide range of books from local and regional authors, great food from local eateries, chocolates, art and more! This is a fun evening for the adults so leave the kids at home and come join us at Pennington Lounge on the campus of Lycoming College.

Nature’s Palette: Clay Art in Rider Park

We are going to work with clay this summer! Lycoming Arts will host an Artist in Residency at Rider Park. Local clay artist Kathy Gorg will lead us in making handbuilt clay creations inspired from nature. Participants will create a textured clay bowl and a small animal sculpture. 

We are asking that participants, aged 16+ attend ***all five days***.
Each session runs on Tuesdays from 6:00pm to 8:30pm. 

The dates are May 28 & June 4, 11, and 18, 2024. 

An Art Show will be held during the First Friday event at Lycoming Arts, 46 W. 4th Street, Williamsport, PA, on July 5th from 5-9pm, for participants to display their handbuilt clay creations.

• This class is limited to 15 participants
• Cost for the entire program is $100, which includes all materials, firings, and artist instruction
• If this is a hardship, limited scholarships are available upon request

Summer Firefly Experience 2024
at Robert Porter Allen Natural Area

This Summer, join Lycoming Arts at the Robert Porter Allen Natural Area for an immersive Firefly Experience. Combining art, science, and nature, the event is a collaborative effort between Lycoming Arts, Bucknell University and the team behind the natural area project.

The event will be held in July (details to follow based on the Firefly hatch) at the entrance of the natural area, located at the natural area at 1724 Sylvan Dell Rd, Armstrong Township, PA 17702. The experience will take viewers into a darkened barn on the preserve where professor and firefly expert Sarah Lower of Bucknell University will give viewers a dose of science education. Lower will discuss the environmental conditions necessary for fireflies to flourish, and how they are working to create that possibility at the natural area. Viewers will venture out from the barn space to the various paths leading to the natural area as Sarah leads a walking tour alongside some Bucknell University students. Firefly crafts will be provided to kids in attendance, courtesy of Lycoming Arts.
